Who We Are
JORDAN MCFARLANE
CEO | Co-Founder
Co-founder, leading the company operations for Modern Edge Industries that provides welding and fabrication across Vancouver Island. As part of the team at Modern Edge, Jordan brings over 7 years of welding experience through a variety of welding-related industries, from small operation shops to working on submarines and navy vessels.
As Jordan’s career has progressed, he has worked his way up to many different positions including being a senior charge hand at Victoria Shipyard. He has obtained many different welding tickets and training along the way, some of those being: CWB, welding inspection, welding supervisor, WHIMIS, CSTS, level 2 first aid, fall arrest, confined space entry, and H2S.
As a new business owner, Jordan’s main goal is to provide our clients with a relationship they can count on for years to come, providing them with excellent workmanship, and going above and beyond on any project he takes on.

RYAN HARRIS
Co-Founder
Co-Founder of Modern Edge Design and Fabrication. As Modern Edge continues to grow, Ryan’s role within the company encompasses meeting customer satisfaction with strong communication skills to discuss your project as well as providing quality workmanship.
Over the course of 6 years, Ryan has built a foundation of diverse skills primarily but not limited to welding and holds his Red Seal as a ticketed journeyman welder with All Position CWB certification. During his time at the Victoria Shipyards, safety was paramount when approaching each job, and he maintained up-to-date tickets in fall arrest, confined space, man lift, and WHIMIS training. Ryan continues to approach every job with safety in mind.
Outside of work Ryan enjoys surfing, snowboarding, and being outdoors in general, and has an avid passion for playing basketball. Ryan has been fortunate to have traveled to a number of countries and having done so, continues to appreciate the versatility and appeal of Vancouver Island and all it has to offer.
Throughout his career Ryan has held himself and the people around him to a high standard of work, believing that if you are going to do the job it should be done to the highest quality. As Modern Edge continues to evolve, Ryan and the rest of our team strive to provide an experience you can look back on and smile knowing you have made the right choice.
